The Importance of School Supplies

“ I got your back” was our first intiative, that we took on, to try and help underserved communities in the Toronto area. Our first focus was on the Rexdale community which is arguably one of the most underserved areas in the city. Which is made of low income housing and new canadians. So something like back to school can be a cost on a family with one or even multiple children. So our goal was to make sure those kids/teens were set up for success with backpacks and the essentials school supplies to start the year off right.

Herschel Supply Co. Was our first sponsor that donated our first 100 backpacks. We knew that was a larger demand in the community. So with the help from our friends at Kits for a cause, we were able to put together a fundraiser and raise over $10,000 dollars in just under two weeks. Which turned to into just under 400 extra backpacks and school supplies for our back to school event.

We collaborated with the Rexdale Community Hub to make our first event a huge success.
